Before installing your rubber parking curbs (also referred to as curb stops or wheel stops), you will need to do a little pre planning. You will need to identify what type of surface you will be mounting the curbs. Asplalt, concrete, and gravel all have different mounting hardware.
Concrete Installation – You can use Lag Bolts & Anchors or Wedge Bolts
Asphalt Installation – You can use Steel Spikes or Lag Bolts w/ Anchors
Gravel Installation – Only Steel Spikes can be used
Installing Rubber Parking Curbs With Steel Spikes
*** Asphalt & Gravel applications
Tools & Hardware Needed – Steel Spikes, Sledge Hammer, Hammer Drill with masonry bit matching spike size
- Determine location of placement for rubber curb stops. 2ft -3 ft away from the curb is average.
- Place the parking curb on the surface so it is parallel with the curb.
- Use the hammer drill to drill through the parking curb, and make 4 pilot holes.
- Remove the rubber curb and drill the holes the depth of your dill bit.
- Clean around each hole with a broom and use a dustpan to remove the loose debris from the surface.
- Place curb back over holes, and insert spikes into each hole.
- Using your sledge hammer, tap in the spikes until they are flush with the top of the rubber wheel stop.
Installing Rubber Parking Curbs With Lag Boths & Anchors
*** Typically used for concrete surfaces, but can also be used on asphalt when winter removal is required.
Tools & Hardware Needed – Lag Bolts & Anchors, Hammer, Impact Wrench, Socket, Hammer Drill with masonry bit
- Determine location of placement for rubber curb stops. 2ft -3 ft away from the curb is average.
- Place the parking curb on the surface so it is parallel with the curb.

- Remove the rubber curb and drill the holes 4-5″ deep.
- Clean around each hole with a broom and use a dustpan to remove the loose debris from the surface.
- Place curb back over holes.
- Place Lag Anchors into each hole, and tap with small sledge until they are flush with the pavement or concrete.
- Insert Lag Bolts into each hole and hand tighten, then use your impact wrench or ratchet to tighten bolts
Installing Rubber Wheel Stops With Wedge Bolts
*** Only for installation on concrete surfaces.
Tools & Hardware Needed -Wedge Bolts, Impact Wrench, Socket, Hammer Drill with masonry bit
- Determine location of placement for rubber curb stops. 2ft -3 ft away from the curb is average.
- Place the parking curb on the surface so it is parallel with the curb.
- Use the hammer drill to drill through the parking curb, and make 4 pilot holes.
- Remove the rubber curb and drill the holes 2″ deep.
- Clean around each hole with a broom and use a dustpan to remove the loose debris from the surface.
- Place curb back over holes.
- Place wedge bolts into each hole.
- Tighten the bolts down until parking curb is snug.
